Privacy Policy

Effective date: 28 June 2026 · Applies to the +1UP app for iPhone and Apple Watch

The short version: +1UP has no account, no sign-up, and no Cookisoft server. It reads only the Apple Health data you explicitly authorize, keeps your data on your device, and, if you enable it, syncs through your own private iCloud account. We never see, sell, or share your health data.

1 · WHO WE ARE

+1UP is developed and published by Cookisoft (Soft Cookie Developers), a software studio based in Lebanon ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how +1UP handles information. You can reach us any time at hello@cookisoft.dev.

2 · OUR CORE PRINCIPLE

+1UP is private by design. We built it without a backend: there is no Cookisoft account to create, and we operate no server that receives your health information. Your data stays under your control, on your Apple devices and in your own iCloud.

3 · DATA +1UP USES

Apple Health (HealthKit) data

With your permission, +1UP reads health and activity data from Apple Health to calculate your medals, XP and levels. Depending on what you authorize, this can include: steps, active and resting energy, workouts, heart rate and heart-rate variability (HRV), sleep, mindfulness/breathing, hydration (water), body weight and body composition (such as BMI and body fat), and characteristics such as date of birth and biological sex used for health calculations.

  • You choose which categories to share, and you can change or revoke them at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → +1UP.
  • +1UP reads this data to power the app's features. It is not transmitted to us or to any third party.
  • +1UP keeps no separate proprietary copy of your raw Health records; it works from Apple Health and stores only the app's own progress metadata (medals, XP records, goal settings and preferences).

Water you log

When you log water in +1UP, that entry is written to Apple Health like any other Health sample and counts toward your progress.

App settings & progress

+1UP stores app data such as your goal settings, notification preferences, earned medals and XP history on your device. If iCloud sync is available, this app data is mirrored through your private iCloud (see below).

4 · ICLOUD SYNC

If you are signed in to iCloud, +1UP can sync your progress (medals, XP and settings) across your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's CloudKit in your own private iCloud database. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not have access to it. If iCloud is unavailable, +1UP simply stores your data locally on the device.

5 · APPLE SERVICES WE INTEGRATE

  • Game Center: if you choose to use leaderboards and achievements, your participation is handled by Apple's Game Center using your Apple ID. Your standing is managed by Apple under their privacy terms; we do not run our own leaderboard server.
  • SharePlay: co-op breathing uses Apple's SharePlay/Group Activities over a FaceTime call you start. The session is coordinated by Apple's framework; +1UP shares only the timing needed to keep the breathing animation in sync, not your health data.
  • Photos: when you save a shareable player card, +1UP writes an image to your photo library only after you grant add-only permission. The card shows the gamified stats you choose to share (level, XP, medals).

6 · WHAT WE DON'T DO

  • We do not require an account or collect your name, email or password through the app.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data to anyone.
  • We do not use third-party advertising or marketing trackers in the app.
  • We do not operate analytics that send your health data to us.
  • We do not receive your Apple Health data on any Cookisoft server, because there is no such server.

7 · PURCHASES

+1UP is a one-time purchase made through the Apple App Store. Payment, billing and any refunds are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment-card details. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.

8 · DIAGNOSTICS YOU CHOOSE TO SHARE

If you opt in through iOS, Apple may share aggregated, anonymized crash and usage diagnostics with developers via App Analytics and crash reports. This is controlled by your device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements) and contains no identifiable health data. You can turn it off at any time.

9 · CHILDREN

+1UP is rated for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no account and no server, no personal data is gathered by us regardless of age.

10 · YOUR CONTROLS & RIGHTS

  • Health permissions: change or revoke any category in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → +1UP.
  • Delete app data: deleting +1UP removes its on-device data. To remove iCloud-synced app data, sign in to iCloud and manage app data in your iCloud settings; deleting Health entries is done in the Apple Health app.
  • Requests: because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or erase on our side, but you're welcome to contact us with any privacy question.

11 · CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in an app update where appropriate.
